Takanawa Gateway Station

Now this really feels futuristic.
Robots are everywhere—helping with security, navigation, and even assisting at restaurants.
Here’s Noripy trying out a ride on a mobility guide robot that anyone can use.

A Gateway to the World

The waters of Tokyo Bay lie close at hand.
Looking toward the sea, the iconic Rainbow Bridge quietly comes into view.

Takanawa Embankment

This is where Japan’s very first train once ran in the Meiji era.  The remains of the embankment, built to allow the railway to pass over the sea, were discovered during construction of the new station.
A fascinating encounter between history and the future.

A Spacious and Refined Atmosphere

Station and the surrounding commercial facilities like NEWoMan offer a generous sense of space and contemporary design, subtly accented with traditional Japanese aesthetics.
A variety of carefully designed seating appears to quietly encourage guests to pause, sit, and unwind.

Roof Garden

Midori no Niwa on the 28th floor of NEWoMan is an unexpected green oasis in the sky.
About 150 meters above ground, more than 500 living plants surround you, creating a feeling like being inside a botanical garden.
With panoramic views and an immersive audio system, the experience is completely absorbing.

A Foodie’s Delight!

Operated by the renowned Happo-en in Shirokanedai, Kappo BUTAI reflects both tradition and modern values.
For this visit, Noripy selected the sushi lunch.
Respect for ingredients and avoiding food waste have long been part of Japanese culture.  This philosophy, combined with the chef’s SDGs-driven approach, resulted in a memorable pumpkin dessert—sweet and satisfying, yet remarkably clean in its finish.
Foodie, satisfied!
